Although the restoration of the Opera House temporarily halted the operation of its popular restaurant, the reopening of the Ybl Palace on Andrássy Avenue has once again made gourmet delights available.

Visitors eager to meet and theatregoers attending performances could finally return to the café, which has combined the qualities of an opera house café and patisserie since autumn 2015, operating in place of the former ticket hall on Hajós Street. For now, the space hosts catering for various events, but the institution is actively working toward reopening the restaurant soon. The restaurant is directly accessible from Hajós Street, and guests who start their evening with dinner can simply rise from their tables, step through a door, and find themselves immediately in the ground-floor cloakroom, seamlessly transitioning into their opera or ballet experience.
